where to buy crawfish in raleigh nc

Head to Heyday Brewing on Saturday for a crawfish boil from 2 until 5 p.m. They will have fresh crawfish flown in direct from Louisiana for the event, corn on the cob, potatoes, and smoked sausage. If you want to guarantee yourself some crawdaddies, make sure you purchase your tickets in advance.

Davenport began raising crawfish 28 years ago in Washington County. He read an article about crawfish farming in Louisiana and thought he could do it here, even though the climate is a bit less steamy than the Pelican State.

That first harvest out of a three-acre pond was among his best ever. He added two more ponds for a total of 13 watery acres. He grows Louisiana red swamp crawfish, which have an especially meaty tail.

The crawfish boils have been going on for about 20 years, Davenport said. Several growers participate, selling raw crawfish for $6 a pound with a five-pound minimum sale. Boiled crawfish goes for $7 a pound with a one-pound minimum. Sales are limited to 25 pounds per person. About a dollar from each pound sold goes to the N.C. Crawfish Growers Association.

There is a 5-pound minimum purchase for live crawfish and a pound minimum for cooked crawfish. There also is a 25-pound limit per person. No pre-orders will be accepted. Shoppers should bring their own coolers and plan to arrive early.

I have been boiling crawfish for many years. I have always used Z****** Sack size until a friend of mine at a seafood resturant convinced me to try the Louisana crab boil in the 4.5# pack. Although similar in flavor the louisiana brand gives a subtile and unique flavor not found in any other product. My only complaint is that the 4.5# size is not quite enough product to boil an entire sack of crawfish in 1 boil. I prefer to use 1 1/2 bag and soak only for 10 minutes.

I am a native New Orleaning living in South Florida. We miss the great seafood served thru-out Louisiana, well that is until we found Louisiana Crawfish, Crab and Shrimp boil. This seasoning is not just for seafood. We boil everything in it. Try boiling a few chickens in it, than make a chicken salad with you seasoned chicken, OUTSTANDING!. Louisiana Crawfish, Crab and Shrimp boil seasoning brings Louisiana to South where the seafood lacks character when not properly seasoned.

I moved to Utah from Louisiana a few years ago, and I sure miss fresh crawfish. In all the time I lived in Louisiana, I've hosted a few boils, and attended many more. The one thing you hear a lot while the pot's getting set up and the potatoes and corn are being thrown in is, "I hope they make them spicy enough."There's nothing more disappointing than all the anticipation of a good crawfish boil and then they come out bland. I have never seen that happen when your seasoning mix was used. They come out perfectly seasoned every time. I like mine on the spicy side, and your product does not disappoint! Thanks for making the simplest, easiest way to boil perfect crawfish!

I have used Louisiana Fish Fry's Crawfish, Crab and Shrimp Boil for over 10 years and I can't sing it's praises enough! I use it to cook what we, here in Atlanta, call Frogmore Stew. Other areas may refer to it as Low-Country Boil. It consists of a varienty of ingredients, including crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, sausage, corn-on-the-cob, red potatoes, onions, and just about any other combination you can think of.A friend of mine from Louisiana first introduced the product to me because her parents would send her a case if it every year from Louisiana. She and I lost touch over the years and I was forced to use another product. I was never completely satisfied with the other product and started actively looking for yours. One day as I was shopping in my local grocery store, I stumbled upon a Louisiana Fish Fry display. I stocked up immediately!. But then, just as suddenly, they stopped carrying the product. I was devastated. But good fortune smiled on me again and I found a supply in a fresh fish restaurant where they had a complete wall next to the cash register displaying nothing but Louisiana Fish Fry products. This time, I didn't just stock-up, I stockpiled!!! Now that I have found your website, I feel confident that I'll never run out of this product again. It's spices are so well-blended. They get inside the seafood and enhance their flavor to the point that the only sounds I hear around the table are "mmm", "ooohhh", and "aaahhh".If I have any cautionary tales to tell they would be as follows: 1) DON'T leave your ingredients sitting in the boil after it's done. The longer they sit, the hotter they get. If you have leftovers, store the ingredients and the boil separately. Even reheating it will add more heat to the seafood, so remove it from the boil as soon as possible. And 2) A little bit goes a long way. Be careful not to add too much boil to your boil I have added too much on occasion and made the seafood almost too hot to eatThank you for making such an execellent product. It makes me really shine as a cook. My family believes that I can really "throw-down" in the kitchen. They have no idea that all I do is add seafood and other ingredients to your Louisiana Crawfish, Crab and Shrimp Boil!!!

I have traveled the country and the world cooking..I was born and raised in Shreveport Louisiana and have yet to find anything close to the flavor of Louisiana crawfish crab and shrimp boil ANYWHERE!! It is very hard to find in many areas so thank God for the internet!!!!!

I boil my feather bone ribs in the crab boil loose power mix for about 20 minutes and then put them on the grill to brown on low heat and basting them with my favorite BBQ sause. MMMMMMMMMM good. I am having a hard time finding this particular product here in Nebraska they carry some product, but not the loose crab boil. could you let me know where i can get it locally .

I have hosted and attended many crawfish boils in my life and when it comes to mine I use only this seasoning. Nothing else added. I always get rave reviews on my boiled crawfish and I owe it all to the Louisiana powdered seasoning mix. Excellent price and an Outstanding taste. A big "THANKS!" to the Louisiana fish fry products people.

The only crawfish/crab boil around. I have converted a lot of Texan's to be converted cajuns. I enjoy sharing my heritage and showing the converts what is truly the best of the best.Geaux Tony's. Geaux Tigers.

I ordered 50 pounds of crawfish boil about 10 years ago. I'm all out and need to order more. My kitchen will never be without it. I use it when I cook crawfish, shrimp, alligator, catfish and I have even used it on lobster. The 5 lb bag is a great Christmas present for that uncle of yours that likes to cook spicy seafood.
